Two weeks ago, there was a badge and showed the AOII's name on the back of the pin. I looked up the sister in the directory and called her home. She had passed away and her husband had no idea how the pin got out of their home, let alone on Ebay. He was very upset and was having his son bid on it since he didn't know much about computers.
I sent an email to the guy selling and he refused to even let this man "buy" back his wife's pin, citing it wouldn't be "fair" to the other bidders. I couldn't believe his heartlessness.
I don't know if AOII's widower had the winning bid or not, but my heart ached for him.
Let's keep an eye out for any names on badges--I have an AOII directory if we need to find the family of the original owner.
