If you could remake any movie....
Hello everyone, I thought this may be an interesting thread.
If you could remake any move what would it be and who would act as the lead characters.
I will go first, "the Wiz."
Here are some of the roles that I would recasts:
Dorothy as Alicia Keyes
The Scarecrow: Usher
Tin Man: Bobby McKnight
The Lion: Jaime Foxx
The Wiz: Bill Cosby
Aunt Em: Patti LaBelle
Uncle Henry: Denzel
Glinda the Good: Mary J. Blige
Evillene: Whitney Houston
Okay, I couldn't sleep last night and caught some of the Wiz on the Lifetime Channel!

I thought about this.....I think I would remake:
Cornbread, Earl, & Me. Deserves a much bigger budget -- also would be a great vehicle for some unknown, black teenage/pre-teen actor like Larry Fishburne was at the time. (I have no idea who should be in it, though.)
I think I'd like to see a remake of Imitation of Life perhaps with Jessica Alba as the daughter and Loretta Devine as the mother.
And I know I'ma get clowned for this one.....but come on, let's see a new version of Bustin' Loose this time without the corny parts at the end.

I agree, I would love to see a remake of this movie. I have the orginal version on DVD. Not sure who I would cast as the daughter, Ms. Devine is a good choice as the mother.

Beloved ~ The original was horrible so maybe they'll get it right a second time around.

Without a doubt, I keep waiting for someone to redo WARRIORS.
It was a cult classic the first time, but if redone correctly, it would be an even bigger hit today. (Better gangs, more special effects and just better imagery)
Can you dig it? Can you dig it? CAN UUUU DIGGG ITT?

I am in total agreement with Beloved. But can any one fill me in on the "warriors"? I have never heard of it.

The Warriors
The leader of New York's biggest street gang declares a truce, and gangs from all 5 boroughs venture to the bronx for a clandestine meeting. When an assasination takes place, one gang stands wrongly accused and the truce is off. Now they must fight they're way back home, because a whole city is gunning for - The Warriors!

One of my favorite movies. If they do remake it, I don't want any well known stars in it. Most of the actors were not household names.

Hey as long as you keep so they're travelling back to Coney Island (my birthplace) and have me in the movie.
The movie I'd remake would be Love and Basketball. That ending was totally unbelievable.
