Well I just found out my grandma has emphesyma. I'm still kind of shocked and a little teary but I was just wondering what those of you that have gone through something like this could tell me. I mean, I don't really know anything about it other than it's not curable and is a lung disease. She smoked when she was younger, but hasn't for years and years and years... And I just don't know what to think right now.
I am so sorry to hear about your Grandmother. I have no experience with this disease and therefore no insight to share with you. However, you and your Grandmother are in my prayers.
i can't relate, as no one i know has ever had that disease, but i know family members who have had cancer.. including my younger sister. be strong for her, it makes a difference for her to see smiling faces.. you and your grandma are in my thoughts and prayers

My grandma had emphasema (I cant spell) and so does my dad. Its hard, but there is treatment. If she smokes, get her to stop. Dont let people smoke around her. DONT GO AROUND HER IF YOURE SICK! Bronchitis/Flu/Colds can hit a person with (word I cant spell) harder than others because their lungs arent as strong... just give her lots of hugs.
