I need advice. Big/little "rush" is this week and one of our new members has infromed me that she really wants to be my little. I really really want her as my little, but i'm afraid that i won't get her because there are juniors and seniors that don't have littles yet and one of them also wants her. i'm afraid the senior will get her even though they've never talked....the senior just wants the new member because she had curly hair and everyone in our chapter loves her. What should i do???

If you both put each other as your #1's should it make a difference? I mean I would understand that an older member might get preference if t he new member would pick her, but shouldn't the descision be mutual if at all possible?

This kinda of happened to me. we have 8 new girls.. 4 of them all put me as their #1. Anyways, on my list I put 2 of them down as my #1.. I was going to be taking on two, or at least i thought i was. I only got 1(the girl i knew i was getting, b/c i wanted her and she only wanted me) I am disappointed... But I plan on being almost a surrogate big to the girls I didn't get. Just because you do not get her as your little, doesn't mean you can't me close and you can't spoil her rotten.. Big sister in my opinion is just a title and anyone can be someones big even if they haven't officially been given that title.

well, we found out who our littles are and suprise! i didn't get the girl who had told me she wanted me. Her third choice, who also wanted her and who happens to be the provisional member director's best friend got her instead. I got a little, who is so sweet, but I don't know what i'm going to do at revelation in regards to the first girl. She told me this weekend again that she put me first and she was trying to get me to tell her i was her big. Her big is letting me write a note to her for revelation to say that I'm sorry I couldn't tell her and I know she'll have a great time with her big, etc, but I feel so bad about it.

don't worry about it! there was a girl who really wanted me as her big too. as a matter of fact, every day during big/little week she would tell him she was so excited that i was her big! in my chapter at the time, we didn't get to rank our littles, but i would have put her first too! in the end, she was matched with someone else. she wasn't dissappointed bc it is super exciting to get a big! of course, years later, she doesn't talk to her big....and we still talk! she and one other girl are my adopted littles! i know how exciting the big/ little relationship can be (i have the greatest big ever), but there are lots of other relationships that you will form in the sorority. have fun making tons of presents and enjoy your new little sis!!
