ALUMS?
I cannot understand, why there are not more ALUM responses to this forum unless there are NO ALUMS! Hell, I have e-m to prove there are more than this!
Shawn does just as good a job as any of the MODS. But he has to be getting board!
If not for Alums many times the chapters would be in deep S---!
I know mine is and I am not to proud to admit it. I want to keep mine going!
Well all of you folks out there can you help?

I think there less alum posts b/c we alums deal with school issues which are not listed here.
I am an active alumna and many of what I deal with is with my chapter...so I would post on the "actives" stuff.
I wish more alum were here....what can we do? I'm leaving for Convention in the AM, I will ask around for ya and do some GC PR!

I have also noticed how few alum post on here, although there often seem to be many who post on other general forums and specific fraternity and sorority forums. I'd love to meet more alumni.

this could be a great post for Alums as We All have some Problems with our chapters! I know I do!
And Shawn works very hard for our Fraternity!
I listen to the cry babys at my house and have No Sympathy as it is some where in the Dictionary! Are all of your chapters so clean and full of members? All Is alright with that little world?
I would like to know what may work at other campi and chapters!
Thank you for your indulgdence!

Our biggest problem (for our area Alum group) is simply that there are no chapters around here anymore.. hence, most of us in the alum group are transplants also. Our closest chapter is the only one on it's campus that doesn't have a house. We are going to go try to help them with Rush, but they are at SUCH a disadvantage... anyone have any ideas on how to present that to rushees?

While we have a house, the grande old gal has seen many hard years of use and abuse!
We are in the process of getting a program in place to raise money. In the mean time is is a detriment as most of the others houses look better!
We are going to try to get it at least cosmeticallt presentable!
We also are having Alums go down fro Frosh Orientation to assist in trying to get new Associates.
I really do not know what else we can do and if any have some ideas, lay them on me!!!

I am an alumnus as well -
well, I don't know what is happening in your chapter Tom, but in mine, there is always a group of local chapter alumni that are present at the chapter meetings and keep an eye on things. It helps.
I am personally involved by constantly updating our chapter webpage and its news section. That way everybody who is out of town andd who has web access can take a look what's going on in the chapter. The response among alumni is very positive.
Good luck to you and your chapter,
Matt

I think I show your name on another board. I'm also an AGD from Gamma Tau.

Alumni Association Reactivation Progressing
Hi Tom and All Greek brothers and Sisters. I think many of us are still in shock regarding the attacks upon our Nation. Let's all pray for the families and friends of our fellow Americans affected by these acts of terrorism. Let's all stand together, and be thankful for the freedoms that we share! I'm happy to report that our fraternity chapter (inactive since 1972) here in Buffalo, NY will be forming our AA in the very near future. I visited our Director of Alumni Affairs today, and will soon have current addresses of missing alumni for a general mailing. Also, to my knowledge, our fraternity has not had a convocation since 1970. We will be getting together in the Summer of 2002. Our actives are very pysched about this. They want many traditions they heard about from past years to be reinstituted. I will be visiting our chapter in Oswego tomorrow for a closed smoker for new pledges. It's another way to connect with our actives. They appreciate the input of alumni. It also brings back great memories of my years as an active. I urge all alumni to get involved with your fraternity (or sorority). It won't take alot of your time. Particularly with the tensions in our Nation today, getting together will help to bond our brothers (and sisters). Think about it and get involved. God Bless America, and all our brother and sister Greeks. Fraternally, Frank Filippetti, Psi Phi Beta Fraternity, Fall '69 Buffalo State, State University of NY

Hey y'all! Its Steph checking in here. I didn't want the old-schoolers thinking I dropped off the face of the planet. I've just been majorly busy with my graduate program and jobs. I have so little time to surf these days, but I wanted to let you know I was thinking about you!! Take care, and feel free to drop me a line sometime!!
