Question Old Crest??????

I found this doing a search on yahoo. Does anyone know if this is the original crest or one of the first designs? I have never seen this before. Did I not pay attention at some point during my new member period?

I had never heard anything either about there being a different crest. How weird. I don't remember our new member program discussing that. Then again, I've been an older member for a while so my memory might be failing.

That is definitely the original crest. I think 1926 was the year it was changed to what we use today. I read that one of the reasons they changed it was so that it would be a true heraldic crest according to medieval tradition and also that it would hold more meaning within the symbols.

I have a silver photo locket with that crest on it.

I looked it up on the CD rom that we were given but it didn't say anything about the old crest. It might be one of the first drawing of what the crest should look like. I'm still looking in to it.

I've seen it before in "The History of Zeta Tau Alpha"

It is one of the older crests designs. I like the current one MUCH better.
