in 1982 the greeks on the campus of umass lowell were banned. houses taken away, all support withdrawn, and all noses turned up at. Some GLOs were lost, some were gained, and through it all we drifted apart and lost our sense of unity.
that unity was regained today, 9/11. as a whole, all the greeks walked from north to south campus together, wearing flag print letters (most of which i made i might add
). people turned and stared at us and were amazed by how well we got along. beyond that, we all talked, laughed, and cried together. we attended a candlelight vigil and OUTNUMBERED THE NON GREEKS that attended.
i just wanted to share the huge step forward we have made as a greek community.
