A little help

Okay, I don't really know how to go about handling this but here's my situation. My roommate and Chi Omega sister just broke up with her boyfriend and found out that not one, but BOTH of her parents are very, very ill and might not make it much longer. She's been sooo upset and crying when anything is mentioned. I really just want to be there for her! Has anyone been through a rough time like this, and if so how did people help you...especially your sisters. I can't stand to see one of my sisters so hurt like this, I know I can't fix it, but I'm sure I can make it better. I just need some advice from all the lovely Chi Omega's!!!!

Have you tried approaching some of the other girls and seeing if there was some way the group could do something nice for her like take her out, make her dinner, send flowers etc.?
I don't know if the sister is religious but perhaps going to church together might be a nice thing to do...or seeing if she'd like to talk to someone about everything. It's SO hard to say what is the best thing to do. Some people want privacy and others need to talk about things to feel better. Whatever the case a simple acknoledge the problems and reassure her you all will be there.

I'm so sorry to hear about this...I'll be praying for her.
