Exclamation Injustice in Georgia?

A fellow myspacer posted this in his blog and I thought it was post-worthy for this forum. Please READ:

------------------------------------------
What's going on everybody it's your boy once again...! For those of you who know me, and that's pretty much all of you, you know that im really not a RA RA political type of person but for some reason this particular cause kinda struck me as strange.

I was riding into work today and listening to the Michael Baisden radio show. They were discussing a case out in Atlanta involving a young man named Genarlow Wilson. A then 17 yr old boy and a 15 yr old girl.

In a nutshell the two of them were at a High School party he was the school star athlete a graduating senior with a 3.2 grade point average, with no previous criminal history. The female was a high school sophomore. As the story goes they engaged in CONSENSUAL oral sex!!!!!!

Long story short this young man was sentenced 10 YEARS IN PRISON. Not jail!!! PRISON! Right along with murderers, thieves, child abusers and the like! Not only that, this CHILD is being forced to register as a sex offender when he does get out.

Since his imprisonment the state of Georgia has implemented a new "Romeo & Juliet" law. This means no teen prosecuted for consensual oral sex can receive more than 12 months or be forced to register as a sex offender!! However Mr. Wilson is still stuck in Prison. Was he made an example of?? I'm not sure I can't answer that but I know something needs to be done and in a BIG WAY!

So if your asking what can be done there are a few things.

***The first thing you can do and I hope all of you do this is go the website HTTP://WILSONAPPEAL.COM that all of the details regarding this case.

***Let District Attorney David McDade and other politicians of the state of Georgia know your outrage with the unjust incarceration of Genarlow Wilson. Sign the online petition demanding his freedom and that he not have to register as a sexual offender.

Alright im off my soapbox for the day just thought that was a worthy cause.. I mean damn this could be my lil nephew and his girlfriend, or your lil brother/cousin and their little girlfriend just messing around!!! Does that means he's a criminal? NO!

So let your voice be heard and the government know that BS is BS and it needs to be rectified!!!!!

Hallelujah Holla Back!!!!!

I blogged about this in January of 2006, and 21 people commented (I think the most comments on any of my entries) including his family members.

If you feel strongly about it, follow the links above and pass the word!

LOL, you're not late, I was sorta directing that to everyone who might read your message. It's sad that he's still in prison and I hope he gets out soon.
