Women and their decorative madness
Ok, I have an issue. My parents just bought a nice place for me in Tampa to finish school. It has white marble tile in it. The living room is huge with a den that is connected to the living room. My mom decides to act like Martha Stewart and goes off and buys me these Victorian couches that are red velvet with matching pillows to fill both couches, only she tells me I can't sit on them that much and if they get me a golden retriever I can't allow him/her to sleep on it. She says they are only for looks and we'll get the leather couches I wanted "soon". I told her I don't need that crapp but she proceeds to tell me she is also putting this single white column in there with what sounded like a statue of the head of Nero ( the roman emperor )and then hit me with a picture of Michaelangelo's "the Creation" and starts telling me what it is, as if I didn't know. I told her I don't want my place looking like I'm some art Fag ( Though I do like classical greco-roman architecture and many paintings from the rennassaince era.) She told me I don't need turntables in the living room with Black lights, bud light banners, Bob Marley posters and banners from surfing expos in my new place, like my old. I think she's trying to make my new place appease the tastes of girls older than the ages of 18,19 and 20. I think the only thing I might seriously like are these candle decorations. She knows I like candles ( though she doesnt know when they are used ) and she said she got me something "different", anyhow it's a Pineapple that looks like it's marble but has a 3 huge candles in it and looks like a Pineapple light when lit, she said she wanted to put it on some sort of standing column. Are any of your mothers like that? or is it a woman thing to want to decorate someone elses house for them? Our conversation ended with me telling her " At least I'll still have a big screen, the play station 2 and X-box right? She told me yes, but to trust her on the statmenet of older chicks like'ng my new place. I'm not sure to be glad or sad.
