Smile Trading Spaces... Delta Gamma

Did anyone see the trading spaces episode today? Ok, my roomates and I are a little obsessed with the show. We would love to trade spaces with the sorority across the street. But I didn't particularly like what was done with the rooms today!
I was wondering what everone else thought.

That's pretty funny. I JUST made reference to that episode of trading spaces in the 'fun game' thread.

It's an older episode cause I saw it a few months back. I thought they did a great job tho. The chapter room was beautful and was exactly what a chapter room should look like.

Does anyone on greekchat go to the school where that delta gamma chapter is? I think it was Pepperdine for some reason. But I may be WAY off. If i'm wrong, someone please correct me...

Judging by the sign they showed during the episode, the chapter they were working with is Delta Gamma at Santa Clara University, which is a Jesuit school.

The University is phasing out Greek life (by 2003) and suspended all recruitment activities in Fall 2000.

You can read about it here:

http://www.scu.edu/news/releases/0301/greek-review.html

The university commissioned an extensive study and decided that it was easier to do away with Greeks and expand other recreational services than institute changes within the Greek system. At the time of the abovementioned article, only 239 students out of over 7300 were affected by this decision.

What's so sad is that the goals that they hope to achieve could better be fulfilled by encouraging Greek Life!!!!!! I feel horrible for those students!

I was a little disappointed with how the woman's attitude towards their symbols was. Being a Greek herself, you would think she would respect them. Also the host chick seemed kinda disrespectful. Delta Gamma's symbol is the anchor if I'm correct, and the lady designer kept referring to it as a (omgosh I forgot the word!) theme. I'd be mad if we wanted a picture of our lion somewhere, and they kept referring it as a "Jungle" theme, or a "Zoo" theme. Sorry, just my two cents.
