Alumni Help

Hey, my chapter is trying to start a chartered alumni organization. I was wondering if any one else has has to do this and has any suggestions. We know how to organize one, but I think theres a problem finding enough local alumni to sign the petition. If any of you guys know of a way to get alumni to come, that'd be great.

Congrats on trying to start an alumni association! No real silver bullets here on how to be successful other than persistence and the willingness to never let up until your AA is on solid ground.
Check out the Greater Atlanta TKE Alumni Association web site. It will overwhelm you on how well it is done. They really have their act together. (mission statement and reasons for their existence etc.) (I'm not sure how to post their web page here, but just go the the TKE HQ page and look through the Alumni page and you should find it.)
Good Luck. Incase you didn't know...typically the most successful TKE Chapters over the long haul have top notch alumni involvement. Sounds like you are just what they need.
All the best,
YITB,

Chapters need to do more things with alumni. I know if alumni feel included in the chapter they are more likely to help. If they recieve just an occasional newsletter and never invited to drop by the house why would they want to help out.

i was involved in setting up my alumni association in my first year as alumni. the real trick is to get those few alumni who are involved, and have them start it up. its a lot easier to get fellow alumni to convince others than for the chapter to do it. they sort of set an example to make it seem worthwhile.

As far as I know there isnt any charterted New Orleans Alumni Association, I know are chapter ahs an informal one.........How do I go about setting up something so big and Who do I talk to? I would be interested in starting it upon my graduation from highschool...........Blaise
