Talking Chants

Greetings Sorors,
We are working on our probate show and I would like to know if anyone has some unique chants they would like to share. We are already using the Adam & Eve chant and a "pretty girl" chant. I was just wondering if you had something extremely unique and different(perferably DST chants). Thanks Sorors for all of your help and feel free to e-mail me if you don't feel comfortable posting chants on a public forum.

Wink

This is my pinkie (hold up pinkie)
And this is my hand (hold out hand)
It's just like an AKA to take your man
You're mad about your boyfriend
And that's no lie
It takes a real ALPHA Woman to keep him satisfied
So get yourself together and put your man on a leash because he'd rather be with beauty (sorors hold up your pinkie)
Than to be with the beast! (sorors do the Delta's hand sign upside down. Should be an upside down triangle)

I learned this from my big sisters of Gamma Eta Chapter at Knoxville College!

I just want to say that you should be mindful of the image you will project with each element of the probate show.

I don't know the atmosphere on your campus but on mine these types of chants were said in fun. In fact when I crossed we sang a song about the Deltas who were my sands to the Brady Bunch tune and we poked fun at them of course but they knew it was all love. I believe in their next step show they sang a song about us to the Oscar Meyer (sp?) where their ending line was...well soror I'll just email it to you and it wasn't flattering but it was funny. Oftentimes the fraternities would do the same thing to each other but when it came down to it we all stuck together like family even those who chose not to pledge a fraternity or sorority at all. To sum it up, I agree. Soror be very mindful of what you say. If it isn't that type of party nix the chant.

On a lighter note Skee-Oop to my sands. Much love!

I just thought of another chant written by my Big Sister Valarie Miller:

Adored by the Kap pas
And wanted by the Ques
Admired by the Sig mas
And the Alphas love us too
We are the fine sexy sorors of AKA
Alpha Kappa Alpha is the only way
Often imitated
Never duplicated
So sophisticated
We don't have to say it!

this chant led us into a step
I hope you can catch the beat of the chant, if not email me and I'll try to be of some assistance.

Skeeee Weeee! Pink Bunny I must be the "new" Pink Ice to the message boards. I've found out recently how popular the name is as I've received a few messages from sorors wondering where "I've" been but hopefully I'll make just as many sisterly friends as she did My full line name was Passionate Pink Ice and my number was 5 but that name is a little long. Anyhoo I'll change mine to minimize the confusion. If anyone knows the "original" Pink Ice tell her I said great minds do think alike!
