O.A.R.

I'm not certain that you guys go to many shows, or how particularly into this hard-to-label genre of music, withoutout simply terming it 'chill' but this band 'Of A Revolution' is one of the most phenominal talents ever. I was fortunate enough to see them perform last night, and they were spectacular. Now, I'm going to try to get them for the Sigmapalooza thing I was talking about despite the fact we'll have to get 7 other bands and they alone cost $10K. We're not exactly a wealthy chapter, but damn...these guys are phenoms, truly. Check them out at the 'g' in SigmaChiCard at the bottom. Go see them in concert, immeadiately!

THey're absolutely awsome - I was supposed to go see them twice, but haven't gotten the chance to. If you can't see them in concert, at least try to download some of their music - really really good stuff. THese guys know their stuff.

I'm so excited - Pi Kappa Phi is sponsoring an OAR concert on my campus next month... They offered tickets to Greeks first so we could sit in 'blocks' with our sisters and dates. Just thought I'd share! Anyone in the area, come on down, we'd love to have you! And, yep, they are amazing!

I have to agree. This band is rad. I have bought friends the CDs for birthday and they are hooked. It is the music that touches that part of you that music was meant to. It wakes something that popular culture has coated and calloused. My taste in music is pretty eclectic, my favorite bands including Zepp, Marley, G Love and the Special Sauce, Puerto Rican and Japanese free style...you get the point. Bottom line, no matter what genre of music you dig, you will be drawn to O.A.R.

Oh yeah, Cory..if you dig Phish, you may just enjoy String Cheese Incident. Although I am sure you have heard of them already, they have these amazing instrumentals.

I'm simply obsessed with OAR- in fact, some of my friends have a band that does a lot of covers of their songs- "Crazy Game of Poker" will always be THAT COLLEGE SONG for me.

They're coming to DC November 30 I think... anyone nearby is hereby invited to come to the show with me, tix aren't expensive, ($10-20 I think)and have a GC party!!

Miami1839... Kevin.. I know you're nearby- what do you say?

Well if you like String Cheese, try Ekoostik Hookah. I love SCI, I saw them in Nashville last year, and John Popper came out and did "Walk This Way" with them...a phenominal show, truly. Also, if you guys like OAR, try Pat McGee too....many battle over who is better.

So a Sig from Ohio State U transfered to my school and we have become good friends. Turns out he lived in the dorms with the drummer from OAR and knows most of the guys pretty well.

Oooh! I *love* "The Revolution!" It's the only song I've heard from them so far....any other suggestions? God love Morpheus...!

Yes, it is definently my senior year song. The guys at KA are jamming to it everytime I'm down there drinking!

(You missed my three favorite OAR songs . . . hit these - )

To Zion Goes I
So Moved On
If She Only Knew

Also - any of you kids into OAR listen to any Dashboard Confessional? Very intense music, tends to draw a similar crowd, even though it's very different musically.

least favorite O.A.R. song ~

To Zion Goes I

haven't heard them actually. I'm really starting to love Llama & VaCo, and Dispatch is amazing too, if you don't know those three.
