Question False Hazing Complaints...

What would you do if your nationals or University got a anonymous complaint about hazing from your fraternity?

This weekend someone called the head IFC advisor here in SD and made a complaint about my fraternity. They said that they live next to some Phi Psi's at the beach and every Sunday early in the morning we haze our pledges and create loud noises keeping the neighbors up. They also said we have underage drinking and drunken conduct- urinating on the beach in broad daylight infront of people.

This is so not true. We can prove this false on so many levels, and from talking to the advisors they seem to think it's a load of crap too. Has anyone else experienced this kind of crap? I know that most nationals will investigate any little thing and this is a way for someone who does not like your house to try and get you in trouble.

Most HQ's will investigate, but typically the chapter is given the benefit of any doubt. Most HQ's will not act without hardcore proof.

My headquarters got a letter (anonymous of course) saying that we were blindfoldling our new members and tying their hands and making them trestle jump. We were like "what's trestle jumping" . Our advisors didn't believe it either and nothing happened, we though it was hysterical because we had never heard of it before. Trestle jumping, for those of you who don't know is jumping off bridges. So supposedly we were tying them up and throwing them off of a bridge......we just wanted to know how anyone could swim with their arms tied.

Sometimes people can be very catty. If you arent doing anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about.

I have done three hazing investigations where anonymous complaints were filed, and two of them ended with our HQs doing nothing, because the complaints were unfounded. Most HQs assume you're innocent until proven guilty.
