Tidying up Social Media before Recruitment

Hey guys! Just asking for a friend. But ill put it in my point of view so it doesn't sound like a he said she said.

I have used this website for advice, and little tips on how to be recruitment ready. One of the hints that stuck out to me the most was the trouble with social media. I have used this past week to tidy up my Facebook, twitter, and instagram. Not that I have anything necessarily bad on my social media; I just deleted anything that could even slightly be taken the wrong way.

Heres the problem.. There is also another girl rushing who I am friends with. We have had twitter conversations. Recently she has been posting negative things that any regular Jane Doe would consider before releasing to the world. She has also posted over confident tweets such what sorority she will be in, and how she cannot wait to throw her greek letters onto everything as soon as her bid day ends. I worry that since we have had past conversations that sorority ladies may see that. I don't want one bad apple to spoil the bunch. I do not want anyone in the sororities thinking we both think that way! How do I handle this? Do I delete her for the week?

Thank you!

As long as YOU are not saying such things, I think you should be okay. I wouldn't go so far as to unfollow or unfriend her all together, but maybe kindly remind her that anything can happen during recruitment, and that she should put her best foot forward and clean up her social media as you have.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if social media actually became the impetus for young ladies and gentlemen to begin being confident and kind at a young age? Our habits become us ...
