How Many Recs Are Ideal

DISCLAIMER: This question doesn't apply to places like where I went to school where the sisters wouldn't recognize a rec if it landed on their head....

We've established that recs are needed at schools with a competitive rush and southern schools in general. If it says in the PNM handbook that recs are not needed; THEY ARE LIARS, LIARS, PANTS ON FIRE!

At some schools (cough, cough, SEC), having two recs for every house is pretty de rigeur among PNMs in the know.

My question is: how many recs is too many? Where is the line drawn between being well prepared and being the psycho rushee who really overdid it?

All depends on the school. Texas would be 5-6, other places in the south, 2-3 would be sufficient.
