Laura's Initation....TOMORROW!!!!!:):D:):)

Ok you all tomorrow is it! the day i have been waiting for for soooooooo long!!!! Can you imagaine how excited i am?!

I am, in less then 36 hours, going to be initiated and now be able to call you all my sisters!!! Isn't that the most coolest thing

( this section is from a prev. thread of why i chose alpha phi... it felt appropiate right now) :

I want to tell you why i chose Alpha Phi. I always wanted to be in a sorority in college and i never either had 1) the time because of my studies and 2) my age at the time i was in college. These were huge hinderances on my part and as well as geographical location.

I went to a very southern school, Univ. of Arkansas, and I was 25/26 at the time i was there, so rushing and peldging was not going to happen.

I always felt cheated from the exprience. So when i got home from Arkansas i was looking into avenues of trying to join at a Cal State school as i was attending CSU San Bernadino( where i will be tomorrow). There again i ran into the same problem....age. I thought because California was a little more relaxed i would not have a problem. There again that pesky age thing.

I looked into some sororites at the time that possibly offered AI and i didn't see anything really so i gave up on the idea. It never really left my mind completely just backburnered it for a while. I got married and moved to Oklahoma City for 3 yrs and for some reason i got it in my head i was going to try this again and see what kind of outcome there was.... now years later. I had a friend i worked with at AOL call center who was Iniatiated as an Alumnae into AKA . I figured if the pan-hell sororities are offering it now in 1999 so maybe some panhellenic's are doing it also. I found that DZ offered it and i wrote them, and of course they the alum. assoc. didn't know, but were going to send in to have me initiated.

Well I got pregnant and had a difficult pregnancy and was ordered to bed for the rest of my pregnancy. (side note: wonderful healthy baby boy named Matthew was born )

Well since then i moved back home to So. Cal and never was initated with DZ. Plus i never really felt comfortable with the alum chapter.

A yr or two later ( 2002) i found Alpha Phi. Now from the very first meeting with my alum chapter, i knew i had found a home and new family full of sister when i found you all and my alum group in San Bernadino. It was an instant click and felt like i was home and knew them forever. I love them all as i love you all!

I never thought i would find this kind of feeling. The love and support we all have for one another is overwhelming and come Novemebr 9th when i am initiated i will be sooo proud to be your sister and where my badge proudly knowing i have found my home.

I am a huge beleiver in faith and what is meant to be and i believe strongly in my heart that i was meant to be a Alpha Phi and a sister to you all!

Love,
Laura

WOO HOO!!!

Congratulations! I know you have been waiting for this day for a really long time now. I remember getting "count down PM's" from months back. Your day has come! Ahh, I am so excited for you! Be sure to let me/us know how it goes. Of course, no secret information though.

Cool You all waiting for me?????!!!!!!

Ok so where do i begin?????????????????

today was the most wonderful exp in my whole entire life (ok next tot eh best....the birth of my son) I am sooo truly blessed to be counted a sister among you all.

We had initiation at 9 am at the San Bernardino Hilton and it was VERY MOVING and BEAUTIFUL! I still cannot believe i am now a sister.

Everyone said and this is true, "it will go by so quickly" and it did. I listened to everything and couldn't help but tear up. I just wish i could remember everything!!!!! Will everything come tome after time?????

A long time dream has finally come true and i cannot even express how happy and excited i truly am!

PS..... how do i do the letter code for this?????

For teh first time ever.....
AOE,
Laura

Woo hoo!! It's official!! You are an initiated sister. Congrats!!

I remember feeling overwhelmed with everything I learned at initiation. With time, you will remember things and be like, "ooooh, okay."

If you are wanting to know about making a signature for yourself with the letters, check out this thread.

TechAPhi gives a wonderful explanation on different letter signatures you can try.

Once again, welcome to our sisterhood.

Let me tell you....

Everyone told me this going into Initiation listen to EVERYTHING because it will go by so quick! and they were right! SATX tells me it will all come together with meaning after time but it is a beautiful and moving moment you will never forget

Believe me with the holidays coming up it will be here before you know it!

Where do you live at? what alum chapter?

Thank you also for your kind words to me on the "I'm a newbie" thread....I greatly appreciate it and hope that many other women will find "homes" in their sororities!
