HELLO STEPPERS
We are S.T.A.R.S. Mentoring Organization, based in Washington, D.C. Striving to Achieve Real Success is a non profit organization whose mission is to bring self esteem, both academic and career motivation & achievement to the lives of Washington, DC youth. This program forms partnerships with local, and statewide mentorship programs, schools, and juvenile delinquent facilities. STARS’ aim is to promote self awareness, philanthropic opportunities, college scholarships, and strong interpersonal skills. Washington DC’s youth have lost faith in their school systems and communities at large. Due to ubiquitous DC school shut down’s, lack of educational materials, hunger, and homelessness, DC’s youth have suffered a major disadvantage. These epidemics have lead to low school attendance, low morale, and violence. We service youth ages 7-21, by matching them one on one mentors.
WE ARE HOSTING A STEP TEAM FUNDRAISING EVENT WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FEW STEP TEAMS TO BE APART OF THIS EPIC EVENT. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY RESOURCES.
