If you could change anything...
Okay ladies...
I was pleasantly surprised to see some updated rush materials when I got my FV packet. I know that some of us have talked before about things needing to be updated, and other changes we'd like to see in BSP... what are your ideas?
Id love to see more chapters on college or even community college campuses.
I also would like to see something like a "legacy" chapter. An organization for women who are middle school to age 18. Maybe take the old Nu Phi Mu designation for it? Think of how the Eastern Star has Rainbow and Job's Daughters. Think of the girls we could get involved, that will then progress on to a RoJ chapter and up!
I was talking to a member here in NoVa who told me about when she joined and women would join a RoJ chapter and when they hit their 4 years, the exemplar chapter would come kidnap them from a meeting. They actually moved on, then the RoJ chapter rushed. It was a neat story and I liked that it kept fresh members coming in to each chapter.
What if we ended up with so many chapters in each area, that we could actually hold something similar to a formal rush? We could have members visit all of the chapters and have mutual selection! "Oh, Kappa Pi likes you, but you like Nu Iota. Nu Iota likes you and invited you to Pref." That would be awesome.
I also would like to see more NPC alumnae consider BSP as a post college option. Yes, you can volunteer all you want through your org and NPC, but come be active in our sisterhood as well!
Oh my thoughts and dreams.

I've thought a lot about this question. It's hard to answer. I agree that it would be a DREAM COME TRUE if communities had enough chapters to let members and potential members really see where they fit best.
I wish there were more opportunities to serve the sorority beyond the City Council level. Beyond that, the leaders are employees, and while the consistency is nice, I think many sisters would really thrive in a leadership role for the organization. Maybe traveling consultants like you see in the NPC.
Finally...the website... I'm really glad that the website moved "in house," and the staff is doing a good job of keep it current. Important announcements are front and center! However, the design of the website needs a professional eye. I mean this with absolute love and respect for the people who have worked to improve the website, but the visual effect is still mind-boggling in places. Particularly the front page. I was thrilled to see the new and beautifully improved chapter search function though!!!

Another vote for travelling consultants. While Nevada Nu has had tremendous help and encouragement from all directions....it would have been cool to have a traveling consultant around to help us with some of the specific paperwork stuff.
Also, more collegiate chapters please! Really! While I have no interest in helping to FV another chapter for some time in the forseeable future....I'd definitely be interested in helping with bring BSPhi to more college campuses after I'm done with school and have gotten established in my chosen career.

Traditionally, Friendly Ventures were formed by other chapters or by members-at-large who had moved to a new area without a chapter. Only recently were non-members allowed to Friendly Venture. So in those traditional cases, the existing chapter would "mentor" the new chapter, and you'll see in The Book of the Beta Sigma Phi that there is an actual "Advisor" role so that experienced members can help the new chapter in a formal capacity. This works great if there is a chapter in the area.

My new chapter actually has an advisor! Erica, you know how much this is going to help even ME, someone who is now on FV #3. She is our legacy's mom, who lives in FL, but is still going to be such a big help.

That's excellent, Alison! I really think Advisor's aren't used enough. I credit my unofficial OLK "advisors" for my FV's success.
