Question What do you make of this story?

Okay....last year at about this time I'm in the library studying for a final exam. I needed at lest like an 89 or something on it to get credit for the class. This gorgeous girl walks in lookling like hell. Not dressed up all. Glasses not contacts, warm pj pants a t shirt over top of another shirt, ear muffs, and a big pink and green puffy winter jacket that made her looked like she was in second grade. But still I thought she was pretty, cuz she just was. So anyway, two other girls from a different sorroity (won't say name) sit down at the table in front of mine, and beside hers (she is at one of the ones facing the wall). They start being loud and she has a hard time consentrating, the cute girl that is. She had taken off the jacket cuz it was hot in there. She got to up to move because those other girls were loud, and kind of mean to her sorority. She forgot her jacket, and the other girls were like "we should take it" then other girl number two (haha, number two) said, "i don't want to take her her jacket" and the first other girl was like "no I just ment take it" so I took it over to her, the girl whose jacket it was. Oh yeah and she had on this beanie hat thing that kind of looked funny, but she was so cute with it. Anyway, she smiled at me and said thank you. I just left. I saw her a few days later and she smiled at me, but this other came up and they started holding hands. I know a few people in her sorority, and no one remembers who she is, no one has any idea at all. They were like, oh yeah that was so and so but no, i know that is, and the girl in the librarry wasn't as tall or skinny. But she had a cute smile. Now i'm talking with a girl who just finished pledging that same sorority. She has a cute smile too. What should I say to her to not screw it up. I have her number and have called her but after that she said she liked another guy. I kept talking to her as friends. Then when she was stressed out about something i told her to think of that guy and she said she didn't like him anymore. Then I said think of me and she was like "no i have to concertrate" but then looked at me like she kind of understood what i meant. When I first started talking to this girl, i kindof just wanted to see if I could get a date, but now, I'd be happy just making her smile again because, well....she has an amazing smile. I promised myself I wasn't going to get attached emotionally to anyone but I'm starting to be, and out of all the girls, I don't want to mess this up. So whats my next move? What do you think? James, I already gave her some candy.

I have to say I wish I was her... cause you sound so sweet.... I love it!! Please let us know what happens... cause, well, you are just nice!! How refreshing! Oh, and as for what to do... email her a cute note, like "Hey, I just wanted to write you and say hope you have a great day~" Something short and sweet.

Hey...I just talked to her. Not the coat girl the other one. I'm asuming we're just friends because she called me "buddy" and asked if I had any nail polish. Just for future reference, James, CANDY DOESN'T WORK!

Friends talk to girls in a calm sincere manner and act supportive while litening to tales of their days.

Friends also give advice about problems and spend a lot of time on the phone involved with inconsequential conversation . . .

Potential love-interests call up and talk in a flirty manner, guage the pace of the conversation and usually use the conversation to . . .. ASK THE GIRL OUT.

ZTAngel said it pretty well when she said cultivate a certain aura of mystery. But also leave it clear you aren't looking for some best new buddy, or you'd get a pet. You want physical contact with this girl. This necesitates spending time together with both of you on the same page.

You seem to act like a friend while wanting to be more but not coming out and saying anything directly.

Also, many women don't like uncertainty, so you have a limited time to either represent yourself as friend or boyfriend material. Because if you don't do it quickly, she'll define you for herself and usually error on the side of caution and less exposed feelings.

When in doubt ask her out to something specific at a specific time. It will solve all problems for you because she'll either say yes or no.

Until you do that you don't know where the hell you stand with the girl. And if she was interested, you are leaving her in an uncomfortable position of uncertainty.

Thanks buddy, but I already know where she stands. I'm gonna try that with her roommate though.
