RIP Barq's

Our dog Barq's died this morning. He was 15-1/2--we've had him since January 1996, so he was definitely a part of our family. Thank God my husband was home--I don't know what I would have done!

The vet will be able to use his medicines, food and treats, bowls, bedding, and toys, so that makes me happy.

Thanks, y'all. It hasn't sunk in yet, but I'm sure there will be many moments when his absence will make me sad. He was my first dog (not my first pet though), and we called him our hairy son.

So sorry to hear about Barq's. I've been there.

I'm thinking there must be a story behind his name.

Please accept my condolences for your loss. Dogs become family members, and losing them is never easy.

To me, the most difficult part of losing a loved pet (dog, cat, horse - whatever) is that the animal is present in my life on a daily basis, just always there; good times, bad times, part of the day-to-day routine, and that leaves a huge canyon in my heart when that part of my life is finished. I miss every dog I've ever owned and I empathize with you, MSKKG.

I'm so sorry MSKKG. It's been 2 1/2 months since my furry child was sent to heaven and the lack of her presence is profound.
