J. Crew for Pref in SEC school?
I'm really loving the Blakely and Ramona dresses at J. Crew, I think they are awesome, and they would be a good idea for a southern pref night. Am I pretty much on the right track here, or any better ideas? Also, I can't decide between a color like navy or black and a bright color like orange or coral or a bright blue... I know to choose one that goes well with my skin tone, but is it a good idea to wear a color that may make me stand out?
Here's a link to the Ramona dress:

those are both nice dresses. it is difficult to tell you whether black would be better than a color if we don't know your school(but don't out yourself).

And a question on something I'm wondering about. I asked a friend (ish) if she'd write me a rec, and she said she would, and she'd hook me up with the chapters I'm missing, but she never asked for a resume or any academic information on me. Doesn't she need this stuff?

yes, unless you sent her a detailed email with all the information that would be on a resume'.

I love both of these dresses and think either one would be perfect for pref. I lean more toward the Ramona --actually I almost bought it for my daughter's pref dress-- but it's cotton taffeta. I can't imagine cotton taffeta and would love to see it in person but I wondered if the cotton didn't dress it down too much. That's why I didn't order it for my daughter. The Blakely dress is silk taffeta which would be beautiful. As for color, check your school's GL office web site. At some schools black is nearly standard. You're going in the right direction. You would get a lot of wear out of these dresses at other events too.
