Question Rush Question

I have a question for you: Is there an age limit to join a sorority?

Technically there are no age limits. If you have read some of the other rush threads you probably know that at some schools there is strong discrimination and heavy cutting among the non-freshman population. But at other schools it doesn't matter. The age thing is probably only an issue if the girls get the idea that you are going to feel too mature for them or not into it after the novelty wears off. If you prove your enthusiasm and let them get into you for who you are, all the better.

I would encourage you to give it a try. Know that if you do get cut hard that it is probably related to the age issue and not to you. That doesn't mean that it will happen but you have to be prepared for it in case it does. Let us know how it goes!!!!! Good luck!!!!

By the way, I knew a guy who went into the military out of high school and finished his commitment before college. When I knew him he was a 29 year-old SAE!!!! He partied with the young guys and hung out and was involved as anyone, and he married one of my pledge sisters!!!!!

That's an excellent idea....I can't speak for all of the chapters, but as for Chi Omega and Delta Tau Delta (my husband's fraternity) there is always a need for advisors, both chapter and housing corporation. I worked as an advisor a few years ago and even got to go to national convention in Phoenix, all expenses paid by the chapter....it was a blast. I ended up quitting due to some "personal philosophy" issues I had with one of the other advisors, but she has since quit too so I am back on the team! Being an advisor is a lot of fun. You can really build a rapport with the girls and it is nice to still have a hand in the future of your chapter. I am an advisor at the same chapter I was an active, so it is particularly special for me.

Please post back and give any updates....I'd love to know if you follow through and rush or join somewhere.

Let us know what you decide to do! It'd be interesting hearing RUSH from the perspective of someone who is 25!
Good Luck.
