help! My dream chapter is having COR
So I went through formal, and totally fell in love with this one chapter. I was devastated when I did not receive a pref. and decided to drop rush. It's been a few months, and a friend has told me this chapter will be holding informal in a few weeks, in hopes of filling the TWO spots they have open. This news is both amazing, and nerve racking for me. She has told me they'll be holding a few open events, which she'll bring me to. What can I do to help secure one of those spots? I'm so afraid I will be rejected one more time. What advice can you give me? Thanks so much for any help. This site has been miraculous for me.

Be yourself, there's no point in joining an organization that won't accept you for who you are. Other than that, be on-time if not a little early to everything, ask questions about the organization to show that you are interested in the organization itself, share about yourself so that the actives can get to know you, but don't make it the YOU-show, and last, go in with an open mind for their ideas and what they stand for.

Depends on the school. At some places, if you are cut once you are cut always. Others would be more open minded to getting to know you better during COR.

There's nothing you can really do to guarantee that you get a bid.
As with any recruitment situation, there's a chance that you may not get one, but you really can't know unless you go.

I take it your friend is a member of the sorority?
Go to the events, put your best foot forward and meet as many sisters as you can, hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst to happen. And don't blame your friend if it does. She has already been extraordinarily straight up with you in letting you know there are only two openings.
