Quick Question...
Me and my roommate have our first round of informal parties tonight. The thing is the two parties have completely different dress codes. The first one is a beachy/casual theme and the second/last one is formal. We have 45 minutes in between both parties but to change we would have to bring a bag of extra clothes then run a good distance away to change and of course its pouring today.
My question is would it be okay to just wear the more formal clothes to both parties or would we offend the first group?

With 45 minutes in between parties, I'd take a change of clothes and an umbrella.

This was actually for last night and we figured it out...kinda buuut, the situation was that the closest place besides the bathrooms IN the sorority houses was a good walk up a hill and away from the Village, greek life houses, and we lve almost completely across campus so it would've been kind of like this if we did in fact change:
Sorority 1
15 mins run to UC
Change
!5 mns run back
Sorority 2
Side note- we were also irritated to see some girls 'formal' attire being jeans which made us decide that if there's another formal night we'l wear them too, just to make switches easier

Who were the women in jeans as formal attire? members or other PNMs? IF PNMs, I wouldn't necessarily take their dress as a cue for what YOU should wear. If a chapter says it is formal attire and the members are in formal attire, I would still wear something some-what dressy. maybe you could find an outfit (skirt and blouse/sweater?) that you could dress up with different accessories so that it's not a complete outfit change. A simple skirt with the right top could easily be beachy and then switch to another top add a pearl necklace and earrings and it is dressy.

At least one sister was in jeans that I can remember, but I wore slacks and a dressy top like the girl we had asked told us would be ok to wear. There were actually alot of pnms in jeans, even one in really really short shorts, but I am more gauging what to wear on the sisters. I just felt bad for sorority 1 because I was waay too dressy for their casual party but it turned out alot of other pnms were dressy for that party too and the seemed to be fine with it, so it all worked out in the end.
Thank you everybody though, I am really excited that tonight is through and through casual though
