The University or [sic]
Richmond is reeling over a sexually explicit email, intended for fraternity recruits, that is now circulating throughout the entire student body.
The email, sent by Kappa Sigma's . . . rush chairman, includes graphically explicit and sexist language encouraging recruits to bring freshman girls to fraternity parties for sex. One line in the email states, "bring your favorite skeezas so they can get a (expletive) thrown in em by whoever."
. . . the Dean of Richmond College at the University of Richmond condemned the student's actions and said the fraternity member is under investigation by the university for violating the student code of conduct. Several college deans, along with the university president, have held meetings about addressing the scandal.
The student paper, The Collegian, is reporting that the fraternity has removed the student from his position with the fraternity, but says he'll remain a fraternity member pending the university's disciplinary action. The student issued a statement saying his comments were made in jest, and were not intended to "demean females or jeopardize their integrity." . . .
