Leaving in a semester...Should I rush still?
Well, I know that I'm leaving the college I'm at next semester. Even so, I want to rush the TKE fraternity so I can still make my stay here worth something.
Ultimately, is it pointless to rush when I'll be gone upon semester's end?? Or can I take my membership of TKE with me to my next college? Or will i just have to rush again?

Theoretically you could take your membership with you as you put it, but there's also the chance you could get to your new campus and the TKEs there would be a bunch of douchebags you would rather not spend any time with.
Unless there's a reason you want to be a TKE and nothing else, like family connections, I would wait until you get to your new school before you rush.

The only reason I could see to pledge now is if the pledgeship would be waaaaay easier where you're at then where you're transferring to. Because yes you can take your membership with you usually, but the affiliate brothers never seem to fit in, you didn't pledge with the guys there so you don't have that connection and it's easier to just kind of let you be an outsider.
Then again you're looking at TKE, they're the guys that "never seem to fit in" to start with. *ducks*

I would say wait until you get to your new school. Unless you decide to rush and then check out the TKE chapter at your new school (if it has one) and you think you'd fit in if you affiliate with them.
And ignore the people who talk shit about us, we differ from campus to campus.
Would you mind PMing me what school you're at?

Dude, keep badmouthing my fraternity- I could care less. I have better things to do with my time than to bash another organization that I could care less about, like yours.

^^^A 'ha ha gee those boys are truly humorous' kind of laugh?
Or a 'wow those guys can really be d*ckheads' kind of chortle?

In a "Wow, they are more like me than I knew" sort of way.
Because let the OP have been black and saying he wanted to pledge Sigma, I'd say the same.

Why is it that the fraternity guys cause more drama towards each other than the sorority girls on GC?
To OP: I would be hesitant to bid you if you were leaving the next semester, heck, I don't think I would give you a bid because you would never be a full active of the chapter, thus you wouldn't have much to contribute after you were initiated.
Though if the college you are transferring to has TKE, you still don't know the brothers there or there reputation. If the guys at your current college are awesome and great to hang around with and you transfer to your other school and affiliate there and those guys are dickheads and generally shady people, you're kind of screwed.

Thanks for bumping the thread though, I was looking for it.

Because a thread being 4 places from the top in the fraternity recruitment forum is hard to find. In any case, you're welcome
And I've seen more "-insert fraternity here- isn't top tier" or "-insert fraternity here- is full of douchebags" than I have between sororities. But again, if the OP is so inclined to go TKE I don't think it's anyone's business to criticize/attack/discourage them. Clearly he found a group of people he would be happy with and that is what matters. I think if he wanted everyone's opinions on TKE as a whole, you'd see a thread dedicated to that.

I don't browse posts by topic; I click "new posts."
I think you're being too sensitive. I don't even particularly agree with CB or EW most of the time, but they happened to make a funny. I laughed.
If the OP is inclined to post anything on a public message board, then it's everyone's business. Not that I even agree that he was criticized, attacked, or discouraged.

I think guys are just more open to speak freely and don't care about being "politically correct," as opposed to women.
