Reality TV - What is your favorite show and why
Some people call it TV for the mindless, others call it TV of the spineless, but lets face it, we are hooked.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reality_television
What are your favorite Reality TV shows and Why?
Mine are:
Project Runway: Talented Designers combined with catty drama, and the quips from Michael Kors. Great guest stars!
Real Housewives of Orange County: The absurdness of shallow women over-injected with silicone doing whatever it takes to keep up appearances. Lots of drama off-screen too with the death of Tammy's ex, the bad blood between Bravo and Jo/Slade, and Lauri's son suing her in court

You know, people(including the media) refer to the shows like American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Project Runway, etc. as "reality" shows, but I really consider them talent competitions.
When I think of reality shows, I think of Survivor, Real World, Big Brother, etc., where they show real life people living in a television produced situation day to day.

The Amazing Race.
Yes, the contestants are there to win the million dollars and I'm sure there are parts that are scripted, but the interaction within the teams seem more genuine than that of other reality shows.
Getting to see different parts of the world makes it a favorite as well.

What happened with Jo and Slade? I was wondering why she wasn't on the show this season.

America's Next Top Model- The two Jay's, the catfights, what's not to love?
Project Runway- Tim Gunn, Michael Kors, Heidi Klum and the designers. Gotta love it.
Pageant Place- As the promo says "the tiara's come off"
I'll also watch Made, Flip this House and Top Chef, but not religiously.

Ditto.
Also, I like Top Chef, Little People Big World and pretty much anything in the flip-that-house-genre on TLC or HGTV, I'll admit to getting sucked in to a lot of the tripe on MTV and VH1 (Breaking Bonaduce or Scott Baio is 45 and Single, anyone?), and yes, shoot me, I do watch American Idol.
Ok, so you got me, I clearly watch absolute crap on television. Oh, and I forgot Hell's Kitchen and Supernanny. Love those too.

I am a big fan of Amazing Race. It is the only reality show that I don't get tired of seeing.

While I enjoy many of them, Big Brother is my fav no question. It's the only show that I seriously get into both on tv and online. It's my summer love.

Survivor - Come on, guys, it's the original!
The Joe Schmo Show - Seriously, this was fabulous. That many people were able to pull that off with only a few minor slips.

I love Big Brother and Amazing Race. CBS got it right. Of course I have my guilty pleasures (the American Idol auditions, Rock of Love, Flavor of Love, America's Next Top Model) but I like the contest ones, I agree that the interactions seem more genuine. And BB9 is in January!!! Yay!!!

I love so many: The Hills, Life of Ryan, America's Next Top Model, Project Runway, The Biggest Loser, Pageant Place, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Top Chef, Iron Chef, Little People Big World, the Real World and (although I would never admit these in public) I also watch I Love New York and Shot at Love with Tila Tequila. The last two are awful but SO great to watch.

I hope Dani. Don't you think it's weird that Dani would actually make a good looking guy? My friend saw her and was like "that guy's cute!" and was shocked to find out she's a girl! haha

I love reality TV, since I am not always able to sit in front of the TV at the same time each week, I can't keep up with sitcoms and dramas (although I do try and follow Scrubs).
My favorite right now is "Jon and Kate Plus 8". They just seem like real people who get mad and scream at each other but still like one another at the end of the day. I also like Little People Big World, The Dallas Cowboys cheerleader show, and if I feel like killing a few braincells, The Girls Next Door.
