Parents, Family Forget 2 year old at Airport
http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/americ....ap/index.html
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) -- An immigrant family left a 23-month-old boy in the Vancouver airport and learned he was missing only when contacted during the next leg of the trip.
Jun Parreno, the boy's father, told The Vancouver Sun the mix-up occurred Monday as he, his wife and two grandparents of the child, J.M., were scrambling between their arrival in Canada and a connecting flight to Winnipeg on Air Canada.

At least when the McAllisters lost Kevin, there were a bunch of kids they needed to keep track of/account for. This was the ONLY child with 4 adults!

Why is a 23 month old walking independently from an adult in such a crowded place?
Anytime I've ever seen a kid under like 3 in an aiport they're either holding hands with an adult, being carried, or in a stroller, not walking free.

I am flying this summer with my three kids and I plan on putting the 2 yr old in one of those harness-leash things. I don't usually lease my kids, but in an airport- you betcha. between the carry-on bags, stroller, and all the other things that you juggle, knowing that the kids can't wander off is huge.

One of my favorite restaurants growing up had a sign right next to the cashier counter:
Don't forget your... - keys
- jackets
- umbrellas
- sunglasses
- wallet
- CHILDREN

From what I understand, there are several female GC members who are willing to adopt you.

From what I understand (and I don't know if this particular article mentions it or not b/c I read a different one on Yahoo! last night regarding this) is that they just got to Canada from the Phillippines. Everyone assumed the baby was with someone else.
They were flying internationally, that's probably why they didn't bother with a stroller. There were four adults, so I guess they assumed that at least one person would make sure where the child was. They were delayed or detained and running late to their flight also, if I'm not mistaken. Was it bad, yes! (Verah verah bad). But I can just imagine the chaos that was unfolding at that time. I hate flying. But then again, I'd never let go of my suitcase (carry-on), let alone any future children I may have.

The CNN article mentioned that the family was split up on different flights to Winnipeg.
I'm glad that the child was reunited with his family in the end. That's what really matters.
