Wichita, Kansas
I am moving to Wichita over the summer. What is it like there? Where is a good place to live? Any social things for young people? Any advice would be great!

Don't know all that much about the town, but Music Theatre Of Wichita is wonderful. Much better than you would expect in a city of this size.
Our son did three shows there the summer he graduated from Oklahoma, and we really enjoyed visiting.
If your kids are in to theatre, they have a great program.
Good luck.

HM!
Guess you will find out when you get there!
I am not a big fan of Witchita. Trafic is horendous.
At least you can get to K C or Oklhoma City via Turn Pike. The citys economy goes as does the aircraft industry even though there is a big military base there.
Good luck!

Come down to OKC and watch the Sonics (or whatever we call them) next season.

Welcome!
Wichita is a small "big" city - traffic is not bad at all since your commute will probably never be over 30 minutes anywhere. They are working on a major highway here so that road is a little congested during rush hour but that's it.
Low cost of living, low crime, good job market, and we've not been affected by the mortage crisis so if you're looking for a place to get started, you're in the right place.

There is W Un. there so you may want to check out and see who is there. If a chpter of yours is there try to contact them and get a better idea from them.
Try: GreekPages.com to get any info.
It will be typical Kansas, very hot and dry in the summer.
If you fly out to anywhere, it will not be that easy though.

Oh yeah - as Tom pointed out the summers here are HHOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTT and dry. Seriously. Bring sunscreen and USE IT.
It doesn't cost much to fly out of here, especially with AirTran. I fly to Atlanta for work a lot and tickets are typically around $200 RT (and that's business class).
