Can a person join a sorority when she is active duty military and stationed on a ship that's deployed at the time she wants to join? If so, how would that work?

I can only speak for NPC sororities, but she would have to be physically present to participate in recruitment to even receive a bid to join (there is no "long distance" recruitment). So my answer to your question is probably not.

If you're concerned about the NPHC sororities, I cannot answer for them, but I am having a hard time thinking they'd be open to this either.

To add to what KSUViolet said, per NPC rules, each collegiate member must be a full-time student at her 4-year institution. If you're active duty deployed, I seriously doubt you'll be able to fulfill that requirement.

To add to the above posts... why in the hell would she even want to do that? It makes absolutely zero sense.
