Cool Road Trip Car games!!

Okay so on those long car rides were there any games that anyone here played? My absolute favorite one was called slugbug. Everytime someone saw a VW bug, the first person who saw it gets to hit someone. It is fun when you don't expect it. One time, we drove past a volkswagon dealership and it was on

We always played the alphabet game too where we had to see how many times we could do the alphabet based on what we saw on the road in terms of signs and stuff. On really long trips we played the states game where we saw how many state license plates we see on the road, and try to get all 50.

My favorite game to play on long road trips is "talk your buddy into driving while you consume cold beverages." I hope to get to play that game on my way to Savanah next week.

When we were kids, my brothers and I played something we called city, country river - someone would choose a random letter and you had to find words in these and other categories (some that everybody would make up beforehand) that would start with the letter. It would stop when the first one was finished and you would get points (like 20 when no one else had a word in that category, 10 when you had a different one than someone else and 5 if you had the same as someone else in that category). It was a lot of fun.

We used to do the license plate game. You would get 1 point for each US state plate, 2 points for a foreign plate (incl. each Canadian province and Mexican state). No repeating - once someone called a state, that was it. (To avoid people saying, say, "New York" - "New York" - "New York" and racking up points)

Someone in a fraternity whose house was near my dorm was from Alaska, and had the car tags to prove it. So I always knew to shout out "Alaska!" when passing their house

KAbillymac, that isn't just a game, thats a war We always argue over who is driving and half the time never go anywhere because no one will drive. Plus, I have one good friend that never drinks and has a nice car so he always drives.

My family did a license plate game when I was a kid, where each person picks a state other than the one you're driving through at the time. Then every time you pass a car, if it's the state you called, then you get a point.
