Congratulations to Brother Michelle Obama

Congratulations to our "First Lady Elect". She became a brother of Alpha Phi Omega as an advisor to the rechartering effort at University of Chicago in 1996.

Wonder if this means they are going to add her to the distinguished alumni in the pledge manual?

At least she's a brother by virtual of being an advisor, vs a honorary.

What about Hillary Clinton? She is an honorary member, but she was in the white house first. )

She wasn't initiated until after she left the White House.

Hence why her chapter is Alpha Delta Eta and not one of the more illustrious ones like Mu Alpha.

Actually, ADH is my chapter, and we didn't initiate her. Apparently SUNY Plattsburgh did which is the Alpha Beta Chi chapter, in 2001.

If everything we are hearing is true, it sounds like APO will be well-represented in Obama's Cabinet:
Honorary Brother Hillary Clinton - Secretary of State
Brother Tom Daschle - Secretary of Health & Human Services
Brother Robert Gates - staying on as Secretary of Defense, at least for the time being

How cool is that?
