I got that book for High School graduation from my mom. It's a great book. I haven't read it for a long time though. I'll have to look at it again when i get home from work tonight.

That book is AWESOME!! It's basically just about how great you are and how much you can do and stuff. It's really pertinent when you are about to take a big "life" step (graduations, promotions, moving, etc.)

My new member educator read it to all of us (pledges) the night of our initiation. A couple of the girls were crying

A good friend of mine (actually, 2 friends) gave it to me for my college graduation.

This thread needs a bump because Dr. Seuss' birthday is coming up! Read for America day, y'all! I'm reading at my local elementary school - isn't Pi Beta Phi doing something that day?

One has to wonder if the SigEps are doing anything to mark the occasion, as he is a very prominent alumnus.

That would be too cool!

One of my favorite sisters lives in San Diego, and says that, years ago, Dr. Suess used to call the radio station she listened to, just for kicks. It was the local Classic Rock station, whichever that is. He lived in nearby La Jolla.

His birthday is the 3rd so think of him while wearing your NPC badge.

UCSD's Libraries will be hosting all sorts of events. The main library is named after him. http://ucsdnews.ucsd.edu/thisweek/20..._seussbday.asp

...And the sister I just mentioned worked in the San Diego Library system. Hmmm... no wonder she dresses a little funky.
