The students returned to campus Tuesday for "move-in again day" after the tornados that struck on 02/05/08. Many of the 1,100 displaced students were given alternate housing assignments and others made their own plans to rent apartments off campus or stay with faculty/staff for the rest of the semester.
The girls returned to the Chi Omega lodge to assess damages there. The Chi O lodge was used as the command post the days following the storms. Thus, the carpet is being replaced and the lodge cleaned on behalf of the university. The final assessment shows the need for a new roof and gutters. So the girls will be raising money for this effort.
We have had some excellent support from North Carolina University, Marietta College, Western Illinois University, and Middle TN State University. We have had alumni express their concerns as well.
At this point the girls are in dyer need of donations for the Chapter. Now not only for their lost items but to repair the lodge as the deductible will need to be met. Unfortunately, the house fund will not cover it.
We are asking our sisters everywhere to help out. The girls really need all the support and encouragement they can get right now.

This site lists different ways you can help. If nothing more, please sign the guest book and leave words of encouragement for the Union Chi O's.
