FREE Internet Radio from YAHOO...whoa!
Hey, I just wanted to let you guys know about Yahoo's FREE Internet Radio: LAUNCHcast. For those of us with office jobs, it's a really convenient way to listen to music from our computers and (WOOHOO) it's FREE!
(If you're at the yahoo.com homepage, scroll down about half-way and look on the right side. You'll see a purple box; the link is in there. You have to have a YahooID but they're free too so why not?)
There are some pretty good pre-made stations, but you can have a personalized one for FREE too. Their database is HUGE! You just rate songs, albums, artists or genres (0-100 preference) and it randomly plays things for you. It also recommends new music based on what you've rated, and what other people who like similar music listen to. Just be careful you don't skip too many songs because I did, and it eventually locks your song skippage ability until the next month.
2 (Minor) Drawbacks: They always want you to sign up for LAUNCHCast PLUS (which you have to pay for) but you can always just click "No Thanks," and it goes away. And- there's a few commercials...but they're quiet and aren't longer than 1min. It's not too bad because they only play commercials about every 7 songs or so.
