Pin On Ebay

I just have a question. There was a pin on that is was sold for $3050 . Other then it being from 1891, is there anything else that could have drove the price this high. On the back it has Wm. A Bennett '91. Was he some one that did some special for the fraternity or was it just being so old that made it that high?

I've held this badge!! Our Grand Pro Consul (Vice President) is the purchaser and at our chapter chartering he wore it, passed it around all of the new guys and laid out his plan for it.

Sigma Chi has a passion for history. He has collected so many items that are historically significant to us. This badge in particular is believed to be the 2nd oldest badge around. The first is the original Sigma Phi badge, which our Consul (President) gets awarded each year. This executive council brother plans to donate it as the special badge that all of the PCs after wear.

It truly was something to admire this pin closely. Here we are, the newest initiates of the newest chapter and we got to touch and feel the 2nd oldest badge of our fraternity. Even thinking about it now gives me chills.

Dont believe that is the Pin that Bob Jones passed out at UT Martin as he has had it many years and the auction ended after UT Martin got installed.
