Chickclick is BAD!!

Hey everyone, we need to get all these girls and guys OFF of chickclick who are truly interested in greeklife. They are asking questions, and ignorant people are giving them horrible replys, like talking about hazing that supposedly happened, and not to rush becasue greeks are stuck up and what-not. It just makes me mad, cause I am afraid these 'negatives' are gonna keep soem great people from rushing!!!!!!

When you post on chickclick, do you have the option of including a signature at the end of your post? If you do, put a plug in for GreekChat, or, if possible, include a link to GC.

It's somewhat of a risk to take because the last thing we need is Greek-haters, but if those interested can see that there is a better site out there, then maybe they'll find their way. We'll be able to weed out the problem people.

I was somewhat turned off from chickclick after a certain flaky individual first mentioned it...and I've made it a point not to go there because I have a feeling it's filled with all out flame wars.

ugh...i'm so addicted to CC now!! LOL I *try* to make a good effort but some of those girls are soo arrogant! the idae to put a gc link in our sigs is a really good idea.
there *are* some good threads around on CC if you take the time to check it out...

If you can believe it or not - that certain individual rarely posts, and when she does she is very, well, sane about it!!!

That CC thread "Greek Life - yay or nay" really pisses me off. So is the thread about the hazing.

I also agree posting the link to greekchat is risky, but it might be worth it for others to check out?

I was so mad when I saw the post about sorority girl neccesities. If she actually read the whole thread, she should have seen we were just having fun. See, it is people like that who end up influencing those considering going greek. Damn that sucks. I love my sisters so much, and I know all of you do too, and it just hurts to see people like that say such horrible things, and keep great people from rushing.

I am just glad that the 'good' ones are coming here to get questions answered, it just bites that we have to let in those who are 'haters'. o well, maybe they will see how great we really are, and how we are all different 'greeks', but we all get along on here as one great big giant greek family!!!!

i tried so hard to post a response to defend my list that copied over but UGH! oh well.. Krista and AOPIHottie great job on your posts...it's such a fustrating site, def NOT as welcoming as here.

and with my posts for tonite done for now I think i'll put on some black pants, good lipstick from sephora of course, a glittery halter, and grab my black bag for a little late nite iced coffee...and when i get back home i'll go to bed happy with my decision to go greek

blondie was referring to my lil old post for the most part when she said the "educate us" thing.
She says she's in a sorority. Part of me doesnt believe her. The other half says if she really is then, no offense, but i feel sorry for her sisters. If your in a sorority and know the antigreek sentiment...why would you post that?
Lets not think of her as bashing us though. After all her comment was that we can go back to our shallow board. She got called out by us and somehow had to defend herself with that lame comment, b/c we were telling the truth and doing it in a respectable way. I think we hit a nerve.
Unfortunately there are just some ignorant people who will never come around. Instead of dealing with them we need to focus on the ones who do want to know the truth. Nice job ladies

One important point I haven't seen, though I sure could have missed it, refers to legacies.
I can't imagine any mother wanting her child to enter an organization that could/would cause her harm. It flies in the face of human nature. With the number of legacies that go through rush year after year after year, it seems evident to me that the incidents of hazing must be isolated and contrary to the norm. I won't comment on Fraternities or other organizations that don't have an established legacy system. Just MHO.

Then, as a defense, they say we're stereotyping the people that /aren't/ in sororities. Well, it's not a stereotype, because they are PROVING they feel that way by what they type. Gah.

I am just so proud to be greek right now. I was reading through those posts on chick click and was absolutely clenching my teeth at each new post. I was fuming at the ignorance of which these people accuse US! Wow! I had about 700 rebuttals to every argument presented by the destructive anti-greek population. But as I read on, I found that greek chatters already beat me to it. With a sigh of relief, I realize once again what an amazing and intelligent group of people greeks are(not that non greeks aren't =))! And due to the "PC" quality of this board, I was proud to see that greek chatters remained composed with out reverting to foul language, taking thorough educated approaches! Not to say that none of us use colorful language, but it really doesn't present a positive image of us to respond back with "f-ing this and that"...even if it's what we're really thinking! Haha.

I read a couple of those posts and got so $@%*ed off that I had to quit. You can't reason with people who are dumber than a box of mice.

It just amuses me that part of the point of that site is supposed to be all women are beautiful, don't judge by looks etc., but yet people who embrace that line of thinking can't seem to comprehend that you should carry not being prejudiced into ALL areas of life. You know, the kind of people who if they are vegetarian get mad if you don't understand it but will walk up to someone eating a Big Mac and scream "Murderer!" Hey ladies! KappaGirl11 here!!
I posted such a long post there on CC, and I know it was probably really mean, but I just get really frustrated. I hope I didn't make it harder for all of you still defending greek life to the girls there! I haven't posted anything else because it's just not as friendly as greek chat!

Y'all are doing a great job! I also encourage you to check out the posts about Greek Life Image campaign that Imsohappythatiama is posting. It started as a post in Kappa, now we are moving it to general greek life, anyway, I've seen your posts on CC and I think most of you have posted about greek life, but if you haven't, I know you all have some great ideas and I am sure we could use them for the campaign!!
