Hmmm, Edwards would have been the one Dem for whom I would have crossed the aisle if the GOP candidate was unpalatable.

Makes me a little sad... the Edwards part, not Giuliani. I thank my lucky stars Rudy's leaving. But Edwards has a soft spot in my heart, and I really did appreciate his approach to the problems of America.

Altho he didn't say he would do so today, whose camp do you think Edwards would get behind....or if it came right down to it, if he was given a choice to be a running mate, who would he say 'yes' to?

Don't really know. I think if either Dem candidate gave him the option, he'd say yes to a VP position. I think he's committed to keeping poverty on the front burner, so he'd want to make that his issue, no matter whose admin it was. But as far as getting behind one or the other, I really don't know. At times it seemed that he and Obama had a lovefest, but I don't know if it was genuine or if it was convenience, since both of them had the same goal of defeating Hillary. I guess time will tell...

I feel the same way, I am a liberal democrat, but have been having trouble deciding between candidates, I have always been comfortable with the idea of Edwards and thought that he was a strong candidate, I guess for some of his ... middle of the roadness...(? LOL) with Hillary and Obama...
Guiliani... i'm not surprised at all, I live in NY and he did turn some things around, and I work at manhattan, his alma mater, and he grates on my nerves a little, I think he's very intelligent and did some good things for the city, but I think the fact that he basically put all his "eggs" in the proverbial Florida basket, was rather presumptuous.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/01/...rds/index.html
From an article on CNN.com:
Time magazine journalist Joe Klein said, "I don't think he endorses Hillary Clinton. The question is whether or not he endorses Barack Obama."
Klein contends that Clinton "represents a lot of the things that [Edwards] campaigned against, you know, the old Washington Democratic establishment that he believes got too close to the corporations in the '90s."

And I agree with alum, I also would have considered Edwards, depending on who the Republican candidate would be. I think he would make a great VP if it came to it.

The field gets thinner.
Will not miss Rudy at all!
John, I too was thinking about him, but the big house, expensive threads, costly haircuts, and hanging with a big lobbiest were seemingly his down fall.
I can see on the Republican side the old man McCain, but all in all there is not that outstanding a person running!

No one in the right mind will put Edwards on their ticket -- definitely not Clinton or Obama. They know better! As a NC native I can tell you he was a mess! I mean he ran for president because he was never going to be elected as a NC senator again. I mean, what kind of logic is that! He was just awful... and as MUCH as I dislike Clinton and Obama, Edwards would've lead our nation straight into trouble!

Lol, It looks like the Terminator will go for Mccain, funny funny. Anywho, The question is, where is the Edwards vote going to swing. Edwards gets a large amount of white voters, he did in SC and Florida, but no minority. The white votes have decreased drastically for Obama. HOWEVER, Edwards alligns closer with Obama than Clinton, so its all up in the air. I hope he endorses Obama, and soon. Fingers crossed.

The Terminator's going to endorse McCain?? He's already got Rambo. They're just going to take over the world and kick Chuck Norris' @ss in the process, aren't they?

What exactly did he do that was such a mess? I don't know a lot about his senatorial career. I just knew he was a breath of fresh air from Jesse Helms. Yick!

Your reasoning is flawed. The Terminator could never kick Chuck Norris's ass. The Terminator cannot come back except with Chuck Norris's permission.
