Exclamation Idea for a good college/greek movie...

So, being the brain child I am... (riiight) I have come up with an idea... since there are a ton of us on GC, lets see, how many are writers, film makers, and actors? I can do all three... we might get somewhere on making a TRUE greek movie! tee hee... maybe Im dreaming...

Although Im trying to make a TRUE greek novel... Im going to basically jot down the events that go on this year... and change names, and things a bit (Yea Im gonna write a book can call it Alison and Phi Sigs... right... um no...)and see what I come up with! Im also going to try to get some other people's points of view! Yay. Well can y'all tell Im a bit hyper?

There are only a few good things that came out of Clarion- Chris Kirkpatrick of NSync, Kurt Angle (Pre WWF!) and any PHI SIGMA SIGMA!

Wink

I'm a writer of sorts...
as I'm the Chapter poet, so
I'd be down to be on that side,
but I'm not so into the acting portion
I started writing a novel based on college life
but I've never done much with it
I had like 100 written pages starting from arriving,
We could infiltrate some of my already-written ideas

I write! I'm working on a cool sci-fi/Greek story right now! I can act, too.

Sorry for my absence lately. Grandma is staying in my room while she's here and I can't get on the computer!!

Cory, ya'll have a chapter poet? I think that is so cool! Is that a national thing or just something your chapter made up?

Oh wait, now that I read my comment I think I understand what you meant. You must be the guy in your chapter who writes poetry well. Sorry for the airhead moment!

Actually no,
we kinda made up the position of Chapter poet for me, I write shit for people and for the fraternity, it's by no means a national thing, but while I'm here I'm pretty much the chapter poet

I have been mentally preparing myself for this field and I like the writer, director, producer and sometime actor angle . . . marrying the three seems to be a key to longevity and getting noticed.

Ok an idea along the original concept:

IF you have a feel good movie about all the positive things Greeks do . . . well its probably going to come across as some lifetime original movie (Lifetime is the channel for women's programming) and likely to be touchy feely. If I can sit through the movie they usually leave me feeling a bit ill. The generally have insufficient conflict because often the movie is really about the closeness of relationships and the conflict is just designed to show that.

So basically many movies are kind of character based with the chapter being somewhat a character. Animal House had very distinct chapters that were reflected by their members.

I'm kind of rambling here but anyway it would be interesting to have some Conflict based show, in the tradition that something like NYPD was based on Conflict with the characters being developed by their reactions to that conflict.

So if something bad were happening, and individual Greek Members were involved positively, and dragged their chapters in positively, it might be more interesting to watch and be more believable.

My ex-who-is-still-a-really-good-friend has been working for a LONG time on a novel, based in Clarion. It's kind of a cross between a Michael Crichton novel and "The Secret History" (that is really oversimplifying it). The main female is in a sorority and Greek life in general is portrayed positively. Mainly because my chapter totally changed his mind where Greeks were concerned!

Now he just needs to get published, which is kind of like digging to find King Tut's tomb.
