Thumbs up Movie Lines and Movie Scenes

What are your favorite movie lines or scenes?

Here are my own:

1) Coming to America
(a)scene with the seranader singing, "Your Queen to Be" (b)the Miss Black Awareness Pageant (c) the Jheri Curl scene (d) "You ain't met no Martin Luther the Kang" (the barber shop scene)

2) The Color Purple
(a)God's trying to tell you something: when Margaret Avery's character is convicted and busts into the church singing "God's trying to tell you something." (b)The dinner table scene where the grandfather, Miss Celie and Miss Sophia shine.

3) The Matrix
(a) When Morpheus offers the two pills to Keanu Reeves' character. It reminds me of the choice that many must make in life to follow God whom can reveal all truth and how we, through His Son Jesus Christ, can have new life. Or, we can choose to go with the status flow.

More to come...

OoooKay, what are your favorites?

FUNNIEST: In 'Blue Streak' when Dave Chapelle told that guy he would rip his lips off and "kiss [his] a$$ with them sh*ts." That will ALWAYS crack me up.

SADDEST: In 'Beaches' when... well dayum, the whole movie.

MOST ROMANTIC: Darius to Nina in 'Love Jones': "I love you... and that's urgent as hell." GAWD!! I melt at that!

hahaha... Sweetest, I melt when I hear that line too!!!

But my favorite of all time, I think, is in Rush Hour, when Chris T. is at the Chinese street vendor getting something to eat:
Chris complains about how greasy the food is ("a box full of grease") and the chinese cook says "I NO Punk Bytch!!" -- and Chris T. says "I ain't no punk bytch neither!"

HILARIOUS... I am cracking up now at the thought....

On Godfather I,

When Sunny (Santino) bites his fingers after finding out that Carl beat on Connie (Sunny's sister).

On Star Wars - Empire Strikes Back,
When Han Solo and Lando CalRispian are going up the elevator joking around and thinking about old times when they use to chase women and THEN THE DOORS OPEN and VADAR is standing there with bitterness, anger, and Pure Evil on his mind. Solo is sick with it...

On Deer Hunter,
When Michael (Robert DeNiro) told the Vietnamese (spelling) soldiers that he wanted to play russian roulet with 3 bullets instead of one.

Last but not least on Pulp Fiction,
When Samuel Jackson told the guy at the restaurant to give him his wallet back. The guy said "which one?" Jackson said, "The one with BAD Muthu#$@*& on it!"

How about....

I'm going way back on this one...
Mahogany: Billy Dee to Diana Ross- "Success is nothing without someone you love to share it with."

Steel Magnolias: Dolly Partin- "Sammy is so confused, he doesn't know whether to scratch his watch or wind his butt."

The Best Man: All of the wedding vows of Lance and Mia..(I cry everytime).

New Jack City: Ice Tee to Nino Brown- " I wanna shoot you so bad my d@*% is hard."

one more...
Harlem Nights: When the stuttering Boxer tries to call a taxi-.. tttttt, tttttt, ttttttt then Richard Pryor says, taxi...I know it is better seen than written, but it is so funny!
and...when Richard Pryor's love interest says-"sugar I wanna make love all night long. Richard Pryor replies-"Let's make love real hard for 30 minutes, then fall into a deep, coma-like sleep!

I love movies!! Can you tell??

My favorite movie scene is the scene from
LOVE AND BASKETBALL when Sanaa says "Where's the D?" and she turns around and Fine a$$ Omar is standing there Butt-Booty naked. (Love that scene).

The funniest movie scene ever has to come from Bernie Mack on THE KINGS OF COMEDY. He was Too funny.

The most romantic scene to me is from MENACE II SOCIETY when Ronni pushes Caine up on that dresser, and he's all like "Naw, Ronni, this ain't cool." and she shuts him up with a kiss.

Movie Scenes

Love Jones: When Darrius is on the stage reciting "A Blues for Nina". I love the ending of that scene when the ladies in the audience snap their fingers in the air. That was soooo cool. I also liked the scene when John Coltrane's A Sentimental Mood is playing as clips are shown of Darrius and Nina's outings.

A School Daze: When "The Fellas" step.

A Thin Line Between Love and Hate: When Della Reese is in the kitchen singing, "He's Wonderful." She was so happy. Another scene: When Martin's character is excorted out of Brandi's office by the security guards and he's talking trash: "Show how much they care about you. They didn't even give you a gun. You're a flash light cop. I SEE YOU, I SEE YOU!"

The Original Kings of Comedy: All of Cedric the Entertainer's jokes:

1. The Wish Creed
2. Post-tiger Renaissance
3. Delicious
4. Big Car Parking (with the hand fully extended while backing the vehicle in)

The Player's Club: Bernie Mac's scene when he's talking to his "bouncer": 'Go out there and make sure that nothing don't TRANSPIRE.' Transpire is the funny part of that one. Another one is when he's talking with Jamie Foxx "All you do is spin Re-Cords...if I lift my hand from this desk, Blue, there's goin' to be TROUBLE, TROUBLE, TROUBLE."

Lady Sings the Blues Billy Dee says with the gardenia in his hand extending it to Holiday, "What, do you want my hand to fall off?" Billy Dee (the Denzel of his day), looked so handsome and cool at that time.

Nikki25, your entries remind me of one of my all time favorites. I'm sure you'll remember this line:

..."Y'all might remember this next young man as Joe the Policeman from the 'What's Going Down' episode of 'That's My Mama.' Put your hands together, big round of applause, for Jackson Heights own, Mr. Randy Watson."
lol

dirtymike, that is my favorite movie of all time. I love all of the lines from that movie. Particularly the soul glow song...

"Let you soul glow, feeling oh so silky smooth, just let it shine thru, just let your sooooouuuuuuuuuullllllllll glow."
Hilarious, but it needs to be accompanied by a visual.

Also, my favorite line from a relatively recent movie is...
"No more drugs for that man." Face/Off

That's one of my favorite lines from that scene. Arsenio Hall was a mess in that scene! I'm sitting here LOL and crying just thinking of that scene (thank God that my office door is closed). Whew, DirtyMike, thanks for that one!

Little32, I still can't take Eric LaSalle serious--I don't care how many times I see him on ER. He will always be the official Soulglow man!!!!!

Nikki25, you know we can't forget Hall's other scene:

"Now I want you and that young man to tie that knot. And I want to you hold on to God's unchangin hand!! Cause he helped Daniel get out the lion's den. He helped Joshua fight the battle of Jericho. He helped Gilligannnnnn, get off the island!
LMAO
