Each chapter meeting our sunshine chair gives out awards to girls who are nominated. We have awards such as
sister of the week
studyholic
drama queen

Do yall have any ideas for other FUN awards we can do?

Careful with the drama queen award, we gave that out at formal one year and the sister who got it was offended at the fact that the entire chapter thought she was a drama queen.

We gave out a big boob award for the dingy things that we all sometimes say and do. The prize was a very large bra that you could sign and proudly display in your room until the next meeting.

Try to tailor the award to the individual. So you might give a Most Athletic, Most Preppy, Miss Elle (for your chapter fashionista). Does someone live for a show (Grey's Anatomy, etc.?) Turn that into an award - maybe make pageant-type sashes (Miss Preppy, Miss Grey's Anatomy, Miss Dean's List, - any way you can recognize the person for something special/individual) Maybe name an award after each of your founders - were they known for something special? If so, make an award that recognizes that aspect of one of your members. Give a "Pink and Green" award to the most spirited member - a "Spirit of Delta Zeta" or "Top Turtle" award to the member who best embodies Delta Zeta.

Do try to gauge the person's sense of humor. You want them to be pleased with the award and chuckle - not burst into tears.

In my Phi Sig chapter we give out the "Mr. & Mrs. Alpha Chi" award. Of course, you would just do Mrs. Your chapter designation here.

We give it to the person who works hard for the chapter and exemplifies the chapters goals for that year.

We did Sexy Sister (usually for embarrassing moments) and Smart Cookie for high scores on tests, etc.

At the end of the semester, we do "Sister Most Likely To ..." and they are always funny and personal.

I'm the sister most likely to wear flip flops in 30 degree weather, because well, my feet hate shoes.

We do supportive sister at every meeting. It's a big blue bra with "supportive" on one cup and "sister" on the other cup (in glitter glue, of course).

Alwyas do the positive and make it fun.

If it gets into the darker side, the fun is gone and feelings are hurt and problems arise.

My chapter did Brother Fun and Brother Foul on occasion, both of them intended all in good fun. I think just about everyone got each at one point or another.

We did
Sister of the Week (there a notebook that they got that had been give to the previous sister and in the notebook where quotes and thoughts of why they choose the next sister)

Smarty Pants: for girls that had high GPA's. They were literally little pants that the ACC made and hung up on the wall.

Marble Jar: Each girl will say is the got and A in a test or big project and a marble would go into the jar. If you got 100% then you would get 2 or 3. If the jar got full by the end of the semester we would have a pizza party.

We also had Cora: Cora is one of the founder and one sister was Cora during the semester. She would leave gifts for the girls like candy, valentine cards, or just small things like that. Only two people in the whole chapter knew who that sister was. The one that was Cora the previous year and the current sister. The girls would always try to figure out who Cora was. I did it one year and no one guessed it was me.

We have a blue boob award, but many of the actives don't do it, for embarrassing things that a sister has done (it's a very large old bra stapled to a board coveredddd in sister's names from over the years), also a smarty pants for good grades, star sister, for who went above and beyond their position...
we usually did superlatives for the end of semester formal, cutest big/little, funniest, most likely to be seen downtown, biggest boobs (which is actually quite coveted lol), most likely to sing in the shower, messiest, best shoulder to cry on, most likely to take over the world, etc

We try to keep it light, cute and fun, b/c it can easily hurt someone's feelings.

We have:
smushed strawberry- goes to the girl with the funniest embarrassing story
frick and frack- goes to the sisters who are attached at the hip
best big and little
zeta lady- goes to the sister who embodies best what it is to be a zeta
strawberry sister- the sister who contributes the most to the sorority

We vote on them and give them out every year at our spring semi-formal.

We have a team system where every brother is assigned to a team and depending on things (scholarship, intermurals, rush, community service, et al) that team is recognized every week. We also do an MVP award and it goes to somebody who really did a lot that week.

We also have some yearly and semesterly awards, named after founding fathers. We don't give out a lot of humorous awards, because lots of our members would misinterpret them, but we make sure that anybody who deserves recognition gets something, because fifty years from now, that's going in the chapter history and they can show it to their kids.
