Greeks on TV

I'm watching Law and Order right now, and it takes place on a college campus. The guys and girls are in a fraternity and sorority. I think they just mentioned a national fraternity I recognize. Whaaaat! (The said something about Kappa Sigma guys.) The girls are in DKD, but that isn't a well-known national group.

Can they legally talk about groups like that on TV? Hmm..
