Smile Dining Room with sorority motifs

I can't believe I'm posting this! We're redoing our large square dining room--it has a chair rail 3' off the ground and I'd planned to put stencils around the rail. I was comparing paint chips and our 4th daughter insisted that the best combination was wine and blue. (Well, of course!) Then I found a carnation stencil..hey, I could have a Pi Phi dining room!

So of course, the college kids are insisting they should get red roses and white carnations or owls and pandas either in the dining room or in the playroom. Can anyone think of a tasteful way any of this might be accomplished?

LOL! I'd been planning to make it light green with fruit or flower stencils.

I'd stay away from the owls and pandas, but you could still do the roses and carnations in the stencils since you were going to do flowers anyway..........

Exactly what I was thinking...I think wine, red, and white would look fine in a dining room.

I think you should go w/the carnations in the dining room and then put the owls and panda in the playroom Make it a jungle in there

Hmmm, I like the light green idea. Maybe with some pink rose stencils?

When I buy my first house, I'm going to have an "Ivy" room. I doubt it will be stencils, but there WILL be ivy accents here and there in the room.

There's a restored victorian near campus that is in silver and bordeaux with dark green trim. Every time I pass it, I always wonder whether the owner is an Alpha Phi.
