Question Time to testify...What has He done for you lately?

Today I talked to a co-worker of mine and she was telling me of the ways that the Lord has blessed her throughout her life. We talked about things that happened where we knew that there was no explanation other than God. That made me wonder about the miracles He has worked for others. So those of you who are willing to share, how about do it here. You never know who you may inspire with your testimony. For those who don't believe, please don't interfere with those of us who do. Simply move on to another thread.

I'll share a quick story with you all. For the past year or so I have been living at home with my parents and my son. That is something that I'm not at all accustomed to doing. Money has been tight (and still is), but my nerves and patience have been even tighter . Last week I went and applied for a brand new two bedroom, two bath apartment. It has a beautiful kitchen (which I can not wait to cook in) and a lot of space to move around in. Initially they gave me one price in rent (which wasn't that bad), but when I went back they gave me a price that was far less . After I scraped up the money for the application fee (Christmas is killing a sister) and submitted my application, I was somewhat concerned that I would be stuck on a long waiting list because for one these apartments are brand new, they are in high demand and I live in a military town that caters to the military. I remember coming home and thanking God for blessing me with the apartment. This was before I knew that it would be approved. I had faith in my heart that He was going to make a way. I had no idea where I was going to get the extra money from to pay the deposit or the rent for the remainder of this month provided that I chose to move in this month. I knew nothing other than to thank God for making the way. Getting to the point...today I signed the lease to MY brand new apartment and I have the keys in my hands! Because I just spent the last of my paycheck (that I could afford) to spend taking care of other things, I didn't have a dime to put towards the deposit let alone rent for the rest of this month. When I tell you all that God is GOOD you better believe it. I didn't have to pay my deposit today (and still got the keys ) and the rent for the rest of the month is FREE!!! Thank You Jesus!!! The best part came when I picked my son up from school and took him to see his Christmas present. OUR home. The look that came over his face was priceless and absolutely melted my heart. He is excited about having his own bathroom and his own (big) room in which his grandma is going to furnish as a Christmas gift. Even he was excited about our kitchen (lol). He even went as far as picking out a spot for his drums, but I'm not feeling that idea . Anyway, that is my testimony for the day. I'm truely blessed.

As Sis. King in my church would say...."You betta HOLLA"!

Good afternoon, Saints. Giving all praises to God, who is truly
the head of my life. To my Pastor, the Rev. Dr. H.H. Lusk Sr., in his absence, since he's home on house arrest today! To the ministers on the "Roster or Rostrum...or whatever they be sayin' up in church...." and to my Sorors AKA2D and Ideal who moderate this forum......PRAISE JESUS...for I know that he is my Savior.

Soror SkeeWee - - thank you for your testimony. If your son wants to bang on those drums, girl...LET HIM. What a blessing you have been given.

You, know, we all take some things for granted. He didn't have to wake me up this morning. That's one thing he's done for me, TODAY as a matter of fact. Everyone in my family has been struck with the Flu over the past week, but you know what, there are some people in this country that are DYING from this flu. Praise Jesus for my family's health.

The Lord has seen to it that we are able to do the things that we want to do. Somehow, HE gave me keys to a new car (Passat) and paid for Xmas gifts and still gave me some money left over.

Despite ALL of the things that I have done in my life to defy HIM, my Saviour continually takes care of ME. Surely, his grace and mercy shall keep me all of the days of my.

Praise Him who most worthy to be praised!
I am going to make this short and sweet as possible. During my current pregnancy we have had to watch a defect that they found in my son's lungs. It has been a long road and we done all we could ...which is pray. I just want to say Thank You to my Lord and Savior for blessing my unborn son. We had our second to last Sonogram this past wednesday and there has been no growth in the defect! He is growing just fine (5lbs 12oz with 5 weeks still to go!) and they don't foresee him having to be in NICU or have surgery when he is born! When they say "God is good"... all I can do is holla "ALL THE TIME!"

Talking Praise Him Ladies!

Glad to hear about your blessings ladies!

I am so thankful that I still have a job with there being so much unemployment in my area. I am also thankful for the favor that He has given me on the job as well.

When my company was going through layoffs, I should have been the person to lose their job (it was being done by senority) since I am the newest person. Next, when I got promoted, there were two women in my area that were "less than friendly", shall we say. After about a month or so, one of the ladies was transfer to another facility and the other one resigned! His mercies are endless.

Most importantly though, I am just glad to know Him.

Praise God…for he is worthy to be praised!!!

God has truly blessed me throughout the year. I was blessed with a job that is very fulfilling. It allows me to continue my education, mentor “at risk” youth, enhance my organizing/planning skills, as well as work/meet wonderful people who can help me become a prominent individual in my community.

God has also blessed me with a new friend who has helped me to realize that I am strong person and can make it through hard times. (Thanks Exquizit).

After posting my prayer request I have to praise Him too!!

My mother just completed her 4th open heart surgery, and although she is not out of the woods yet I still praise him! I praise him for the other 3 surgeries that she has successfully gone through. I praise him for my dad giving her mouth to mouth during an asthma attack; if he had not come home when he did she would have died. I praise him for the believing surgeon that did her surgery. And most of all I praise him for the special gift that she is. My mom and I haven't always had the best relationship (I'll have to post on the co-dependant's thread another time), but I praise God for who she is TODAY and what she means to our family.

Let us all rejoice in him!!

I am thankful that he woke my and mine up this morning. I am thankful that I have a job that I actually love and that it pays the bills. Even though the kids get on my nerves it's still out of love. I am thankful that my child is healthy and that my best friend had her son born yesterday. I am thankful for the car I drive, the family I have the husband I have, the grace of God, but most of all

That I am able to realize that there is nothing without the Father

God is good all the time! I thank Him for life, health and strength. I thank Him for healthy children and for family and friends. Even when the devil tries to make me think that I have no one to turn to or that I am not going to be able to do what I've set out to do, the Lord is right there with me telling me the complete opposite and that He is with me and I know this to be true. He took me out of an abusive situation and I know He kept me because I could have been dead. I thank Him every chance I get. I thank him for EVERTHING! God's blessings to you and your son.

Thumbs up God is sooooo good!!!

I thank God for allowing me to get into grad school and have a full fellowship (which I applied for AFTER the deadline)!
I was laid off of work. I used it as an opportunity to go back to school. I didn't want to stay in social work anyway.
While on unemployment (also a blessing), I looked for work. I knew no one would hire me because I was going back to school, but I had to please the unemployment people. After a while, I just stopped looking. A woman at my church who has the gift of prophesy said that I should thank God in advance for the job that I was about to get. I thanked Him even though I knew I wasn't trying to get a job. Two weeks later, a professor called me out of the blue and asked if I wanted to be her research assistant (paid educational position)!
I also thank God for the continuous blessings He has given me while I've been in school. I'm currently working as a Hall Director which gives me a free apartment and a stipend. Also, my professors think that my research ideas are very good and well thought out (only through His grace!). I'm developing such a good reputation that some people think that I already have my degree. I've been asked to speak at conferences and offered tenure-track positions (until I tell them I'm still a student). I'm not even ABD yet, but I thank Him for allowing me to pass the first part of my quals!

I also thank God for my very supportive family! I thank Him for their continued health and longevity.
I also thank Him for the way He has blessed the other people I care about. Most recently, for the health of my line sister's daughter.

Talking

As some of you know, I was out of work for 8 LONG months. My now boyfriend and I had just started to talk and I was visiting his church. For years had been praying to find a church home that would welcome my daughter and me with open arms. This church is it! When I was out of work, I prayed for strength and guidance on what lesson I was supposed to be learning while I was out of work. Members of this church who did not even know me, prayed for me, took my resume, sent me job postings and even critiqued it for me! I was blessed with a supportive boyfriend, supportive and helpful Sorors, understanding parents and just a great support system. I signed a letter of intent for my current position on August 4. Three weeks later, I gave my life to Him. The blessings have not stopped. This Thanksgiving, I met his parents and family and I am convinced that He brought us together b/c we completly compliment each other.

Second, my parents separated over the summer, and my mom moved out of the house. I prayed for Him to give her strength, wisdom and guidance as she decided what to do. She has since moved into her own apartment, and gives ME strength as I begin on the road to home ownership.

I say all that to say that God is all powerful and knowing. Pray. He is listening. But above all else, THANK HIM for what you do have now, and put out positivity. It will definitely come back to you tenfold.

Praise Ye the Lord

Last Friday, Dec. 5, during the Nor'easter, my manager allowed us to leave at 2 p.m. I was OK with this, thinking I would be home by 4 to watch some of the courtroom shows.

But it was not to be. At 4:30 p.m., I was still in traffic (mind you, my commute is normally only 35 minutes) and I had left work with less than a quarter tank of gas -- and the needle kept getting closer and closer to the E.

Finally some time after 5 p.m., I pull into the Gulf, turn off the engine and ask the technician for a full tank. I reach over to open my purse and realize that I had left my wallet -- which contained my debit card, credit cards and license on my desk at work!

And here's the blessing: it was so cold the technician couldn't get the cap open, so all I could do was drive home and wait for the weather to get warmer.

I told my husband that night I nearly called him from the jail, because the people at the gas station never would have believed that I had accidentally left my office without my wallet. In addition, I more than likely would have been cited for driving without my current license (in Jersey, the fines just went up from $44 to a whopping $173 per document.

I haven't finished thanking Him yet!
