Nintendo Wii help

So I'm thinking about getting my son a Nintendo Wii for Christmas but I know nothing about them. If I get him the Wii and a few games to start, is that enough? Do I need to get an extra controller or two? Other accessories that are pretty much essential but don't come with it?

We don't have the Wii (yet), but you'll want at least two controllers for the thing.

I bought an extra controller and nunchuck attachment when I bought mine.

You can get a second controller with the game Wii Play which is like Wii Sports.

Do you have game cube controllers? EIther those or a set of classic controllers for old school play would be nice.

The other idea would be some Wii Points so he can get old games from the online store.
