Did you register with your local alumnae panhellenic? If so, you may well have recommendations you do not know about - alumnae do not necessarily notify girls if they write a rec. from those registered with the alumnae panhellenic. Even if you didn't register with them, if you have been registered with your college panhellenic chapters may well have solicited recs from their alumnae. That said, if you can get any recs. - even this late - it can't hurt.
Read all the stickies here in sorority recruitment - and I'd go ahead and read some of the recruitment stories. Do bear in mind that many times the people who decide to post recruitment stories are those who had a recruitment that was somewhat different than expected - your mileage may vary!
The best thing you can do is have a positive attitude about EVERY chapter - make up your own mind as to where you would be happy - but remember that many, many happy actives and alumnae will tell you that although they pledged their second or third choice, they couldn't imagine themselves anywhere else. I'm one of them!
Good luck!
