2007 Recruitment Results/Updates

Hey... We needed a place to post all this info, so I started a new thread.

OKLAHOMA STATE UPDATE:

Bud Day was today! Quota ended up being 46 (we were told two numbers, 42 and 46, but I'm not sure which is actually correct)... We had a GREAT turn-out. I am proud to announce that EVERY chapter on campus made quota this year! This was one of panhellenic's main goals, and they're so happy to have accomplished it! (My G is the VP of Panhel here, and she told me this when she came back today.) Bid Day festivities were fun for all, and they should announce totals including snap bids sometime soon... We're all super happy though! Every house had an AMAZING recruitment and they're happy with their new pledge classes!

Thanks MegLan for the Oklahoma State Update! Congratulations on all of the great chapters at OSU making quota. The greek system there is wonderful, and I am so glad that ALL of the chapters are thriving. It was not that way when I went school there, and it was painful on bid day to realize that you and most of the other sororities were celebrating while a few were stressed and grieving and wondering how much longer they could continue.

Panhellenic has done a fantastic job--but even more, the actives and their alumni support groups have been super. MegLan, can you reveal your membership now?

Again, thanks for the update on my favorite school!

Oh... I guess I had forgotten that I could stop being neutral! hah. I'm a Phi Mu! Our baby Phi's are SO wonderful and I'm so excited about all my new sisters!! I'm sorry Greek Life wasn't so great when you were at OSU, but I am glad to see another Poke on this site!

And sorry I started this new thread... I didn't know there was a place to post all this info already. My bad.

Actually, Greek life was great at OSU when I was there, it's just that two of the (then) twelve sororities were struggling. Phi Mu came on campus when one of those folded in the late 70's. Then a few years later, the other chapter folded, leaving the current 11 groups that exist today.

I am glad that all 11 sororities had a strong recruitment. I think that people are finally beginning to realize that the system is only as strong as the most fragile chapter, and that no one benefits when any one group struggles.

So glad Phi Mu had a great recruitment! Thanks so much for giving us the updates and have a wonderful year!

I am trying to figure out WHERE the Phi Mu house is.... Did you build, or did you take over an existing house? What are you next to?
