Western Michigan was in my Province when our chapter there closed and it's very similar to Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan. Non-competitive, relaxed, fun, enough chapters that someone who keeps an open mind and isn't hideous in some way should find a home It's the kind of campus where they might not know what to do with a rec if they get one and if they get a legacy or two going through, it's has a real "wow" factor to it.

Sounds very similar to UMD, cept we don't have houses.
I know someone who is considering going through recruitment there, so I figured I'd check to make sure that it isn't super competitive and stuff. I didn't think it was but you never know, and it's good to her that it isn't.

They have a couple different options for housing too. Some sororities have dorms that they rent out and some have mini-apartment type buildings. There are 8 or 9 NPC groups of varying sizes. If you look on their Panhellenic website, you can look at a grade report and see sizes of chapters there too. http://greeks.wmich.edu/
ETA: I swear I saw a male asking about recruitment here too but I can't find the thread now. If he happens upon this one, he should check out this website http://greeks.wmich.edu/recruitment.html
